College Ceremony

Please join us for the College Ceremony where new RANZCP Fellows and Certificate of Advanced Training recipients are honoured. The Ceremony also includes the conferring of various honorary awards and prizes, and the annual College Address.

RANZCP Annual General Meeting

Wednesday 1 June 2011, 1530 – 1630

The business of the RANZCP Annual General Meeting is to receive and consider the reports of College Officers and to consider the annual financial reports and the auditor’s report. Current RANZCP members are welcome to attend.  Name badges must be worn.  Non-members wishing to attend should contact the registration desk in advance.


Margaret Tobin Oration

Thursday 2 June 2011, 1100 – 1145

The Margaret Tobin Award recognises the RANZCP Fellow who has made the most significant contribution to administrative psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. It honours the memory of Dr Margaret Tobin, the former head of South Australia’s Mental Health Services who died in 2002. The winner is invited to deliver the annual Margaret Tobin Oration at the Congress.


MSD Senior Research Presentation

Thursday 2 June 2011, 1145 – 1230

The RANZCP’s MSD Senior Research Award is made to the Fellow who has made the most significant contribution to psychiatric research in Australia and New Zealand over the preceding five years. The award was established in 1978, to recognise excellence in research in psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand.


Trade Exhibition

The 2011 Congress has attracted supporters and exhibitors throughout Australia. Exhibition stands have been allocated to supporters/exhibitors and delegates will have the opportunity to discuss products and services in detail.


Art Exhibition

Take the time to explore a fine collection of aboriginal artworks, including dot paintings, symbols, aboriginal drawings and indigenous sculpture which will be available for viewing along the concourse of the Darwin Convention Centre and are provided courtesy of the Mbantua Art Gallery and Cultural Museum, Darwin.
